Focus Areas: Sustainable coffee cultivation, rural livelihood development, coffee processing, community empowerment, environmental conservation, and agricultural tourism.
The Sanjivan Coffee Project is a long-term community agricultural initiative dedicated to revitalizing abandoned and underutilized land through sustainable coffee cultivation. Beginning on family-owned farmland in Sindhupalchok, the project seeks to grow into a community-led movement that empowers local families, strengthens rural livelihoods, and promotes environmentally responsible farming.
Beyond producing high-quality coffee, the project envisions creating a sustainable ecosystem where agriculture, value-added processing, entrepreneurship, education, and tourism work together to improve the quality of life in rural communities. Through collaboration with farmers, volunteers, researchers, and development partners, the Sanjivan Coffee Project aims to establish a distinctive community-grown coffee identity from Sindhupalchok that reflects the region's culture, resilience, and natural heritage.

Many rural communities in Nepal are experiencing increasing migration due to limited employment opportunities. As young people leave villages, agricultural land remains unused and local economies weaken.
Sanjivan Coffee Project was created with the belief that agriculture can become a modern, profitable, and dignified livelihood.
The project begins on family-owned land with the support of a retired police officer who was born in the village and remains deeply connected to the community. Together, the initiative aims to demonstrate that rural land can create opportunities when combined with knowledge, planning, and community participation.
